            The Parish News

A friendly reminder that we welcome all those who have come to join us visitors and newcomers alike! We are glad to have you with us. Please join us for a coffee and a time of fellowship in the Parish Hall after the Service. Please don?t forget to sign the Guestbook before you go! If you are a new or returning member, please make yourself known!

We are in need of some more readers, intercessors and servers for Sunday mornings: all the ministries of the Church are open to those who are willing and able and we need your help. Please see the Rector for more information!

As we in the summer months, parishioners are reminded that we need to keep coming to Church and giving to is work and mission. What goes into the plates is used to do everything from keep heat and lights on, to paying the Clergy, to supporting mission and work here in the city, and in the Diocese. If you are going to be away, you are encouraged to catch up with givings. To help make it simple, please ask a member of Church Committee about Automatic Debit Giving.

Church Committee meets next on September 6th @ 7pm in the Parish Hall. If members have items for the meeting?s agenda, the y need to speak to or email the Rector about them.

The Contractors will be here right after Labour Day to start the metal roof. It is expected to take about three weeks to complete that project. At the same time, there will be work done in the Sanctuary and in the Chancel on the South side to repair the water damage that has been done to the plaster. This may involve having scaffolding up for a time which may cause us to adjust how we do communion for a Sunday or two.

Sign up Sunday ? for the various ministries of the parish is coming up on September 11th. In particular, we are signing up for Sunday School. Sunday School needs a few committed students and parents to make the School work. It will commence the following Sunday, September 18th. Children are always welcome in worship, regardless of their age. If they do not come now, they will not know to come later! We will also be looking for a couple of people to assist with communion and for folks to serve, read lessons and do prayers. Please consider getting involved in some way with the life of your parish

A reminder that we need some help to feed the delegates lunch that are coming for the Electoral Synod on October 15th. We have been asked to supply coffee, tea and goodies as well as lunch for the Synod. If we could a pot or two of soup with some sandwiches and a pot of chili (enough for about 50 people) that would be tremendous! There will be a sign up sheet for that on Sign up Sunday as well.
